Rev Dr Jane Wanjiku of Mizpah Ministries International based in the Los Angeles California. USA, prays for widows during a handing over ceremony of two houses at Mahiga in Kieni, Nyeri county, the preacher has been assisting widows with houses, green houses, water Tanks , Chicken Coops . The goal is to reach widows in all 47 counties in Kenya
I was born in Nyeri County, as the eldest of 12 children. Unfortunately when I was in high school my father passed on and the enormous responsibility of raising and caring for a large family rested on the loving and caring hands of my mother. She struggled enormously to support us and she occasionally needed help. Such help, financial and otherwise, was forthcoming from my extended family, neighbours.
It was after seeing my mother’s struggles that I desired and to help poor widows in my home town and beyond .
Later on I relocated to USA and founded the Mizpah Ministries International
In 2011, I started the Mizpah Ministries widows group, and the number of women who benefit from the initiative has increased to more than 1000 widows . I make trip from US to Kenya every year In June and December to encourage and support the poor widows by building new houses for those whose dwelling places are falling apart , build chicken coops and small Chicken business that generates income for widows . We have also started distributing Water Tanks to Widows in different villages where there is no access to Water .
I teach and encourage the widows to form support groups where they meet monthly for prayers and fellowship .
It is through these groups that the widows indentify among them the ones that in need of help i.e. Shelter , income , clothing , medical attention ect .

OUR GOALS
WE ARE IN 4 COUNTIES . Our goal is reach , help and upgrade lives of widows in all 47 counties in Kenya by building houses, green houses ,Chicken coops water Tanks . We have also started small chicken & Milk goats businesses that generate income for widows .
Since 2011, many widows have benefited through news houses, Chicken coops, Electricity in homes , water Tanks , milk goats , and green houses that are funded by well-wishers through the Mizpah Ministries Widows project. To foster and encourage widows to give, we instituted a “pay it forward” challenge. Under the challenge, each widow is encouraged to give five chicks to a member of the widows group within six months of receiving their gifts.
We have also set up two greenhouses which have become a resource where widows learn new farming techniques as they grow food to sell and generate some income.
We use a water pump to draw water from a nearby stream which the widows then use to water their crops. This ensures they have food all year around.
These women are vulnerable and need all the support they can receive. I am determined to do my part by offering a helping hand in the same way my mother received support to raise us.
DONATIONS
We receive financial donations from friends and well-wishers . If you want to support and be part of this noble work ,please do so through our website or write to us .
